Hello........

Welcome to my ceramics studio in the heart of Turkey, where east meets west and creative inspiration is in abundance.

.

I was born and raised in the UK, where I studied Art and Design for many years and ultimately graduated with a Bachelors in Fashion Design, (mis)guided by the thought that there is no career in the ‘hobby’ of fine art.

have had a successful and fast-paced career in fashion for over 20 years which has taken me across the globe to live, work and play, gaining many cultural experiences, friendships and knowledge .

However, finding joy and sanctuary in the more conscious and versatile medium of clay has led me down a slower and more satisfying path in recent years.

I moved away from city life to live by the ocean and reconnect with myself and nature, thus, returning to working with both my hands and heart whilst embracing a mediterranean lifestyle.

My design career has always been driven by acute intuition and attention to detail and I continue that ethos into my ceramic practice.

All my pieces are made in my small studio in Türkiye, where east meets west, and a rich creative history is endless.

I am deeply inspired by the natural landscapes that surround me.

The sun, the sea. the mountains and forest offer me daily gifts of motivation as I forage its beauty.

Using stoneware and wild clays, I craft raw and organic yet modern functional art that echo the palette and the rythmic terrain that I’ve explored.

Whilst I hone my signature style, I enjoy the practise of Japanese techniques such as Nerikomi and Kurinuki which are both intuitive and technical in their process. These layering and carving techniques allow for colour, texture and pattern to be established during the building process, becoming an integral part of the form rather than an as a surface treatment only.

I find this approach always results in richly unique pieces that evoke a welcome connection to the elements and encourages touch and exploration by the viewer.
